There are a multitude of ways to get to Bristol by car, but from London, take the M4 westwards until junction 19 where you join the M32 which ends in Bristol. From Southampton, take the A36, followed by the A4 (Bath Road) which should take you to central Bristol.
The main train station in Bristol is called Bristol Temple Meads and is serviced by First Great Western Trains. There is a frequent service from London Paddington which takes 2 hours, and a saver return if booked well in advance will cost £49.
There are two main Coach companies that go to Bristol:
Services to Bristol depart from London Victoria Coach Station or from Heathrow Airport. Coaches arrive at Marlborough St Station.

- Plane (Bristol International / Heathrow Airport)
If you are flying in from outside the UK, most major flights arrive at Heathrow Airport. From Heathrow, the easiest way to then get to Bristol is via Coach (National Express). Alternatively, (albeit a rather roundabout way) you can take the Heathrow Express or the London Underground (Tube) from Heathrow to Paddington Station, and then take a train to Bristol Temple Meads.
Alternatively, many continental flights from Europe (and surprisingly, one service from New York) arrive at Bristol International Airport. From there, the easiest way to then get to Bristol is to take airport express coach (‘Bristol International Flyer’).
